Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Tuesday, August 2

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from July 25-31. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

According to the county health department as of July 29, the level of COVID-19 transmission in Cortland County is low. For the week of July 18-24, there were 69 positive cases, four hospital admissions, and one new death.

As of July 31, there have been 11,849 total positive cases, 712 total hospitalizations and 126 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 5.6% and 11.4, respectively.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 59.9%, with 63.2% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 58.7% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
