A classic setup for warming temperatures will be in place over the area today with a low north of the Great Lakes and high pressure over the Atlantic Ocean.

Skies will be sunny through the morning and early afternoon. The atmosphere may even be dry enough to limit the number of fair-weather clouds that develop.

Through the afternoon, thin clouds will gradually build in from the west. These will do little to block the sun at first, but by the later afternoon hours, may be more effective at filtering the sunshine.

Light south winds will blow throughout the day at around 5 mph. Top daytime gusts will only be around 15 mph.

The sunshine and southerly flow will warm temperatures from the 50s this morning all the way to the mid 80s this afternoon. Dewpoints will remain in the 50s, so it will not be a humid day.

Tonight, clouds will remain in place and south winds will increase to over 5 mph. Humidity will start to increase as well.

Temperatures will fall back into the 70s this evening, but will only make it down to around 70 degrees overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Sun and clouds with a small chance for a late storm. Morning lows near 70. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 90s.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with showers and storms. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Scattered showers and storms. Morning lows in the upper 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
