An area of unsettled weather will slide into the region today, but it should not be a washout of a day by any means.

Skies will be a mix of cloud and some breaks of sun through the morning and afternoon hours. A few stray showers will be possible this morning, but the better chance for rain will be in the afternoon.

Showers will remain scattered, so most of the time, it will probably not be raining, and some areas could miss out on the rain altogether. There may be a few rumbles of thunder, but no severe weather or particularly heavy rain is expected.

Winds will be light and variable much of the day. If there is a discernible wind direction, it will be from the east or southeast. Easterly winds above the surface will carry rain showers from east to west, opposite of what usually happens.

Temperatures will top out in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees this afternoon. Tonight, a slow drop through the 60s will take place with rain showers diminishing. Overnight lows will reach the mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Sun and clouds with some showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds with some showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Thicker clouds late. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
