The unsettled weather pattern that has been with us this week will wind down today as low pressure moves east from New England.

There should be a bit more in the way of sunshine today compared to the last couple of days. However, there will also still be the chance for some rain showers.

The rain today should mostly stay in small, individual cells. With a progressive northwest to southeast motion, any single rain shower should be brief.

The rain will remain isolated to scattered today, so many areas will probably not see much, if any rain. Those that do see rain will see minimal amounts.

Northwest winds will blow between 5-10 mph with gusts to around 20 mph.

The wind will keep temperatures in check, despite the sunnier breaks between the showers. Look for afternoon highs near or just under 75 degrees.

The rain showers will dissipate as the sun sets tonight and skies should gradually clear. Some areas of fog may develop, especially in the usual, favored locations.

Nighttime temperatures will drop through the 60s and into the low and mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. A few afternoon showers and storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday: Scattered showers and storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Monday: Scattered showers and storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
