Waves of atmospheric energy will approach the area today while high pressure tries to hold on.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible at any time today, yet it should not be a washout and some areas will probably see little or no rain.

One wave of energy is expected this morning and may bring the best chance for some rain to the area. Scattered showers and storms will be possible during the mid to late morning hours.

During the afternoon, high pressure will strengthen and the focal point for precipitation will shift to the west. Still, a few stray showers or storms cannot be ruled out, especially late in the afternoon and into the evening.

A few of the storms could have some gusty winds, especially for any that move in late in the afternoon.

Outside of the storms, skies will be a mix of clouds and some sunnier breaks. High temperatures will push towards the low 80s.

Winds will be out of the south at up to 10 mph. Non thunderstorm gusts will be around 25 mph.

Tonight, temperatures will fall back into the upper 60s during the evening with low and mid 60s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Showers and storms likely. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Showers and storms likely. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few brief showers. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
