According to the county health department as of Aug. 19, the level of COVID-19 transmission in Cortland County is low. For the week of Aug. 15-21, there were 71 positive cases, one hospital admission, but no new deaths.
As of Aug. 21, there have been 15,476 total cases counted, 721 total hospitalizations and 127 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 6.2% and 11.4, respectively.
The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 60.2%, with 63.4% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 58.9% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
