High pressure will nose its way into the area today, leading to some sunshine and quiet weather.

Areas of fog this morning will be locally dense and persistent. By the mid-morning hours, the fog should burn off, leaving sunshine and a few fair weather clouds.

Partly cloudy skies will continue into the afternoon. No rain is expected, though a brief spit of a few drops cannot be totally ruled out for one or two hyper-localized areas.

With the center of high pressure to our west and low pressure to the east, winds will have a northwesterly direction. However, the winds will be light, with speeds around 5 mph and gusts under 20 mph.

The sunshine and light winds should allow temperatures to warm comfortably. Look for afternoon highs near or just under 80 degrees.

Tonight, skies will clear and some areas of patchy fog will reform. Temperatures will drop through the 60s in the evening and will end up in the mid 50s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe an isolated, brief shower. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Scattered showers. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Saturday: Some early clouds. Then some sun. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a few afternoon showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
