Temperatures will make a big jump today from a cool start to a warm afternoon.

Driving this will be an area of high pressure that will scoot off to the east over New England today. With the high overhead through the night, plenty of cooling was able to take place.

Areas of fog early on will burn off during the mid-morning hours, leaving plenty of sunshine. The sun will mix with some fair weather clouds, but no precipitation is expected.

Southeast winds this morning will turn to the south this afternoon. Wind speeds will stay near 5 mph with gusts around 15 mph.

The sunshine and south winds will help temperatures climb. After starting well into the 50s, afternoon highs should reach the low 80s.

Skies will remain partly cloudy tonight with a steady south wind. Evening temperatures will stay near 70 with overnight lows in the low 60s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower late. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Maybe a stray shower. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
