The McGraw Central School District Board of Education (BOE) held a brief meeting in the school library last Monday to prepare for the upcoming school year. The library itself has already been updated with new furniture to welcome the students back.

The BOE’s next meeting will be held this Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Back to Business

The board approved the 2022-2023 tax warrant, which means bills will be sent out to taxpayers soon. Tax payments are due by Sept. 30, with those paying late facing a 2% added interest charge.

The BOE also transferred funds from the Workers’ Compensation reserve to the Generalized fund after it was found that the reserve had access funds after the close of last school year.

The board also made arrangements to hold varsity boys and girls soccer games at SUNY Cortland in September. The college will waive the facilities charge and is accepting a cut of ticket sales and compensation for university employees in their fees.

The matchups between McGraw and Cincinnatus are on Sept. 24, with girls soccer starting at 5 p.m. and boys soccer kicking off at 7 p.m.
