Cortland County COVID-19 wrap-up for Wednesday, Sept. 7

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the past week. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

According to the county health department as of Sept. 2, the level of COVID-19 transmission in Cortland County is low. For the week of Aug. 29-Sept. 4, there were 101 positive cases, four hospital admissions, but no new deaths.

As of Sept. 5, there have been 15,684 total cases counted, 733 total hospitalizations and 128 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 10.6% and 19.1, respectively.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 60.2%, with 63.4% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 59.1% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
