Low pressure continues to meander northeastward and will bring a few more showers to the area today.

There are two main periods when rain will be most likely. First, early this morning, scattered shower and perhaps a rumble of thunder will be possible.

This precipitation will be spotty, so much of the time it will probably be dry. Dry conditions are expected for the midday and early afternoon hours, when a few breaks of sun will be possible.

During the second half of the afternoon, the second window for precipitation will open. Scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder will develop. These may linger into the early evening hours.

Once the second batch of showers moves out, the rest of the night should be quiet. Skies will be mixed and nothing more than a brief, stray shower is expected.

Temperatures will hover close to 70 degrees today with the warmest temperatures coming during the midday and early afternoon dry period.

Tonight, temperatures will quickly fall into the 50s with overnight lows in the low 50s and upper 40s

Winds during the daytime will be from the west at around 5 mph. Tonight, the wind will turn to the southwest as cooler air wraps around the low and moves into the area. Wind speeds will increase, but will stay under 10 mph.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. A few stray showers, mostly late. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Thursday: Mostly sunny. A bit chilly. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Friday: Mostly sunny. Staying cool. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Saturday: Sun and thin clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
