Most of today will be dry with some sunshine, but a late cold front will touch off some showers.

Sunny skies early this morning will mix with fair weather clouds. The fair weather clouds will stick around through the midday and afternoon hours.

No rain is expected until after 4 PM. Then, scattered showers will develop and drop southeast through the region. Individual showers will not be long lasting, but several showers will be possible.

The rain may come down a bit hard for a couple of minutes, but the brief durations should keep rain amounts low.

Rain showers will come to a quick end once the sun sets. Skies will again clear out through the evening and overnight.

Winds will be from the northwest with speeds around 10 mph most of the day. Gusts will be around 25 mph. Late in the afternoon, wind speeds will drop slightly, and winds will turn more northerly by the evening.

Temperatures will reach an afternoon high in the low to perhaps mid 70s. Few, if any, places should make it to 75 degrees.

Tonight, temperatures will be quick to fall through the 50s. Overnight lows will be down into the mid 40s, though some locally colder pockets are possible.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Mostly sunny. A bit chilly. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Friday: Sun and thin clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
