High pressure passed overhead last night and is now to the east of the region, taking its dome of cool air with it.

The high will still have an influence on our weather and will keep the weather dry today with a good deal of sunshine.

Periods of thin clouds are likely, though most of these will do little to block the sunshine. Later in the day, the clouds may thicken up a little more.

Winds will be light and variable with speeds under 5 mph. Southwest winds are most likely this morning, while afternoon winds may turn more northerly.

Temperatures will be warmer than yesterday, but not too mild, either. Look for highs to top out near or just above 70 degrees.

Thin clouds will persist into the evening and through the overnight with light winds turning back to the south. These factors will keep temperatures warmer tonight.

Look for evening temperatures to fall through the mid 50s and into the low 50s. Overnight lows will be around 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Clouds, some sun, and a few scattered showers, especially late. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Cloudy with showers and storms. Morning lows near 60. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Tuesday: Clouds, some sun, and scattered showers. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.
