Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Wednesday, Sept. 21

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the past week. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The county health department reported on Sept. 16 that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county has risen from low to medium. For the week of Sept. 12-18, there were 153 positive cases, one hospital admission (five currently hospitalized), but no new deaths.

As of Sept. 18, there have been 15,984 total cases counted, 742 total hospitalizations and 128 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 10.2% and 27.2, respectively.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 60.3%, with 63.5% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 59.1% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
