The Autumnal Equinox is today, marking the start of Fall. The weather seems to have gotten the memo.
A cold front plowed through the area last night. Blustery northwest winds are setting up behind the front and will blow with speeds of 10-15 mph throughout the day. Top gusts will be around 30 mph.
Moisture behind the front will keep skies cloudy, and as cool air invades the region, showers will be plentiful.
The best chance for some dry weather and breaks of sun will be during the mid and late morning hours. During the afternoon, showers will become persistent.
Temperatures will struggle to rise much today and will depend on that late morning lull. Highs will occur during that time, reaching the low 60s at best. During the afternoon, temperatures will fall back towards the mid 50s.
Clouds, showers, and breezy northwest winds will continue into the evening and overnight hours. Nonetheless, temperatures will be able to fall quite low.
Evening temperatures will quickly enter the mid and upper 40s and overnight lows will be in the low 40s. A few pockets could slip into the upper 30s.
Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:
Friday: Cloudy with early showers. Some late sun. Breezy and cool. Morning lows around or just over 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s, possibly with some patchy frost in colder pockets. Afternoon highs near 60.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with showers possible. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with showers. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
