An approaching weather system will keep the weather today unsettled.

Rain showers will move from southwest to northeast across the region throughout the day. There will be breaks between waves of showers, but the rain will be possible at almost any time.

During the afternoon hours, a few rumbles of thunder will also be possible. Most areas will probably not see a thunderstorm, though.

Winds will be from the southeast early before turning to the south for the midday and most of the afternoon. A front later in the afternoon will turn winds to the west.

Wind speeds will be 5-10 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph.

With the clouds and showers, the south winds will not be able to do much warming. Highs will end up around 60 degrees.

The chances for showers will continue into the evening and overnight, though the amount of rain during the nighttime hours should be less than during the day.

Temperatures will slowly drop through the 50s for a low near or just under 50 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Mostly cloudy with showers likely. Morning lows around 50. Afternoon highs near 60.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday: Clouds, some sun, and a few showers. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
