Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Tuesday, Oct. 4

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the past week. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The county health department reported last Friday that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county is still at a medium level. For the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2, there were close to 150 positive cases, three hospital admissions (seven currently hospitalized), and one new death.

As of Oct. 2, there have been 12,517 total positive cases, 760 total hospitalizations and 128 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 8.8% and 26.0, respectively.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 60.5%, and 59.3% of residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
