Cortland County High School Sports Recaps (October 8th)

Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Saturday’s events:

Varsity Boys Soccer: Cortland vs. Jamesville-Dewitt

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost 0-6 against Jamesville-Dewitt on the road Saturday. 

With this loss, Cortland has fallen to an overall record of 2-12 record. 

Jamesville-Dewitt’s goals were scored by Emile Antoine (2 goals), Mahir Bechir (1 goal), Aiden Gaffney (1 goal), Kai Brutsaert (1 goal), and TJ Tanner (1 goal). 

Cortland goalkeeper Paul Hansen made 19 saves in the game, while Adam Rigdon and Sam Allen combined to make 2 saves for Jamesville-Dewitt. 

Cortland will now take on Auburn at home this Tuesday (October 11th) at 7pm. 

Varsity Field Hockey: Cortland vs. Baldwinsville

The Cortland Field Hockey Team lost to Baldwinsville with a final score of 0-8 on Saturday. 

Baldwinsville’s offense was led by Julia Schultz (3 goals), Emma Mantione (2 goals), Bridget Roy (1 goal), Cadence Harvard (1 goal), and Erin Gee (1 goal). 

Cortland goalie Ella Martin made a total of 17 saves in the game. 

With this loss, Cortland now holds a 0-10-1 record. 

Cortland is now scheduled to host Weedsport on Wednesday (October 12th) at 6pm.
