High pressure will hold on for much of today, but signs of an incoming storm system will be plentiful.

First will be the clouds. Thin clouds moved in overnight and will persist throughout the day. Some sun will filter through at times, but the clouds will gradually become thick.

Winds will also be on the increase. Coming in from the south, the wind will build to 10 mph or greater with gusts approaching 30 mph.

Lastly, there will be a chance for a few stray showers in the late afternoon and evening hours. Most areas will probably not see rain, and those that do should see brief durations and light amounts.

Without the backing of the sunshine, temperatures today will be a couple degrees less than yesterday, but still plenty warm. Look for afternoon highs to reach the mid, maybe upper 60s.

Wind speeds will increase further tonight, especially across the hilly terrain in the northern reaches of the county. Here, gusts over 30 mph are expected.

The wind and cloud cover will hold nighttime temperatures well into the 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Windy and rainy. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs around 60.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 60.

Sunday: A few morning showers. Increasing afternoon sun. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
