Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Saturday, Oct. 15

Here is a breakdown of recent COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The county health department reported on Friday that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county has risen from low to medium. There are 13 current hospitalizations, and there was one new death on Oct. 12.

As of Oct. 13, there have been 12,633 total positive cases, 782 hospitalizations and 129 deaths in the county. According to the state, the current daily average of positive tests among county residents is 8.5%, and the weekly average of cases per 100K is 20.0.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated that are 5 years-or-older is about 60.6%. Additional numbers show that over 59.4% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
