Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, October 16, 2022:

A small area of high pressure will move overhead today, even as low pressure begins to develop over the Upper Great Lakes.

Much of the day will have sunshine mixing with mainly thin clouds. The morning especially will have ample sunshine.

As the afternoon goes on, the clouds will become more numerous. Skies will become overcast during the evening and overnight hours.

No rain is expected until well after midnight, towards dawn Monday.

Winds will be much lighter today than recent days, with just a gentle southwest breeze at around 5 mph. Top gusts will be around 15 mph.

Afternoon highs will be close to average for mid-October, topping out in the mid 50s. 

Evening temperatures will drop to the mid 40s, but then should remain steady through the remainder of the night.

Monday: Morning rain showers. A little sun late. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Some late showers, possibly with a few higher elevation snowflakes mixing in at night. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
