A strengthening area of low pressure over Ontario, between New York and Michigan, will impact our weather today.

As the low develops and strengthens this morning, it will send an area of rain showers through the region. The rain will be off and on throughout the morning hours.

During the afternoon, the rain will diminish as dry air wraps around the low and into the area. A few stray showers will still be possible, especially during the first half of the afternoon.

A few breaks of sun will also be possible, though.

Winds will start from the southeast this morning but will turn to the southwest behind the rain by midday. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph with gusts around 25 mph.

Temperatures will rise to the mid 50s by midday then remain steady for much of the afternoon.

Tonight, skies will be mostly clear with just some occasional passing clouds. Temperatures will quickly drop through the 40s and into the 30s. Overnight lows will be in the low and mid 30s.

A few spits of precipitation will be possible with the patches of clouds overnight. This could lead to a few flakes flying for a couple select areas.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. A few showers and possibly snowflakes. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. A few showers and possibly snowflakes.  Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 40s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
