Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the past week. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported recently that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county is still at a medium level. For the week of Oct. 10-16, there were about 80 positive cases, a few hospital admissions (nine currently hospitalized), and one new death.
As of Oct. 16, there have been 12,641 total positive cases, over 784 total hospitalizations and 129 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 6.9% and 16.4, respectively.
The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 60.6%, and 59.4% of residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
