A man was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly robbed and assaulted a property owner, according to a City of Cortland Police Department report.

The report notes that the incident took place on Oct. 12. During the afternoon of Oct. 12, the landlord of the property reported that “several subjects” were in his property and that the property was “supposed to be vacant” and “they were trespassing,” the report continues.

The landlord confronted the trespassing individuals, but was allegedly attacked by Robert C. Scott, who according to the report is listed as homeless.

Scott allegedly stole the landlord’s gold necklace and cell phone. The landlord suffered “physical injuries” during the attack, the report notes.

Scott was arrested a week later on a warrant. He was charged with second-degree assault (a Class-D Felony), second-degree robbery (a Class-C Felony) and third-degree larceny (a Class-D Felony).

Scott was arraigned and sent to Cortland County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in the city court at 10 a.m. Nov. 13.

Lisa M. Walker and David West were also arrested during the incident. They have both been charged with third-degree criminal trespass (a Class-B Misdemeanor). Each was issued appearance tickets for city court.
