The #7 seeded McGraw Eagles lost a tough game against Manlius-Pebble Hill (#10 seed) with a score of 0-4 in the first round of the Section III Class D Playoff Tournament.

“I was not quite prepared for this outcome,” said McGraw Head Coach Jamey Crumb. “They took it to us tonight, all around the field. There was a moment after they scored their first goal where we had momentum, possessed the ball well, and could have got some quality chances; but that early goal to start the second half really hurt us. It wasn't our night. We didn't play nearly the game we could have, but MPH played really well as a unit tonight.”

“This game can't take away what we accomplished as a team this year though,” added Coach Crumb. “We weren't supposed to be a 11-5 team coming in. This was such an enjoyable coaching year for me, and these players deserve a lot of praise for working extremely hard and just being good humans. They have really made me proud. Not the outcome we wanted or thought would happen, but this was not a disappointing season by any means. I feel bad for my seniors. The work ethic and leadership we had from them was outstanding all season long, and they were a huge reason why we had a successful season.”

Manlius-Pebble Hill’s goals were scored by Sam Lurvey (3 goals) and Nick Lurvey (1 goal).

With this loss, McGraw ended their season with an overall record of 11-6 record.
