High pressure along the Mid-Atlantic coast will take over control of our weather today.

Skies will be sunny from start to finish today. Only a few stray thin clouds are expected.

South winds, originating from the southeastern United States, will import warmer air into the region. These winds will blow at speeds up to 10 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph.

Temperatures will be ten or more degrees warmer than they have been the last few days with highs in the mid and upper 50s.

There will be little change tonight with clear skies and south winds remaining. The wind speed will change little, though the gusts will drop slightly.

The influx of warmer air will offset the nighttime cooling. Evening temperatures will slowly drop through the 40s. By Saturday morning, a few places may be in the upper 30s, but most areas will be at or just above 40 degrees.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Sunny with a few thin clouds late. Morning lows around 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Sunday: Clouds with some filtered sunshine early. Morning lows around 40. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Monday: More clouds than sun. A few showers, especially early. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Tuesday: Early sun. Then some clouds and a few late showers. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.
