A Tompkins County woman was arrested on Thursday after she allegedly attacked an individual in her vehicle, according to a city police report.

The report noted the incident started near Church and Port Watson Streets. The victim honked her horn at another vehicle, which was being driven by Vanessa D. Hamilton, of Freeville.

The victim pulled over on Tompkins Street “to call the police.” Shortly thereafter, she was attacked by Hamilton, the report noted. The victim was injured and her glasses broke from the attack.

Hamilton left the scene before city police officers arrived, but was located and arrested in Dryden.

Hamilton was charged with third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief – both Class-A Misdemeanors. She was processed, released and issued an appearance ticket for city court at a later date.
