A weak area of low pressure along the Mid-Atlantic coast will not be able to overcome high pressure stretching through New York and into New England.

There may be some thin clouds around today at times, especially in the morning hours. Even with the thin clouds, though, there should be plenty of sunshine.

Clear, blue skies are expected for the afternoon, with cloudless skies continuing into the early evening. The thin clouds will eventually move in and thicken overnight.

With the high extending overhead, winds will be light today. A slight breeze from the east will blow at under 5 mph.

Afternoon high temperatures will continue to be well above average with highs topping out in the upper 60s. A few places may even hit 70 degrees.

Evening temperatures will drop into the 50s, but a southeast wind will pick up and, combined with the increasing clouds, prevent it from getting much cooler overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Clouds, some sun, and scattered showers. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Wednesday: Scattered showers. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.

Thursday: Morning clouds. Afternoon sun. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Friday: Sun and some thin clouds. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.
