Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Tuesday, Oct. 25

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the past week. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported recently that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county is still at a medium level. For the week of Oct. 17-23, there were over 30 positive cases, a couple hospital admissions (seven currently hospitalized), but no new deaths.

As of Oct. 23, there have been 12,675 total positive cases, over 791 total hospitalizations and 129 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 4.9% and 10.2, respectively.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 60.6%, and 59.5% of residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
