Cooler air has arrived in the area thanks to a late day cold front yesterday.

Northwest winds have been importing the cooler air throughout the night. The wind will diminish after sunrise, with morning wind speeds dropping to around 10 mph and afternoon wind speeds to 5 mph.

Clouds will be plentiful through the first part of the day. A bit of drizzle or a spit of rain cannot be totally ruled out, either.

During the middle portion of the day, the clouds will begin to break up. This will leave skies blue and sunny for the latter half of the afternoon.

Despite the increasing sunshine, temperatures will be held to the upper 40s and low 50s this afternoon. As usual, the higher elevations to the north will be the coolest.

Tonight, temperatures will drop quickly with light winds and clear skies. Evening temperatures will enter the 30s with overnight lows in the low 30s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Thin clouds and some filtered sun. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Sunday: Gradually increasing clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 60.

Monday: A few showers possible. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
