Here is a breakdown of recent COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.
The county health department reported on Friday that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county has dropped from medium to low. There are two current hospitalizations, but no new deaths.
As of Oct. 28, there have been 12,702 total positive cases, 793 hospitalizations and 129 deaths in the county. According to the state, the current daily average of positive tests among county residents is 5%, and the weekly average of cases per 100K is 11.7.
The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated that are 5 years-or-older is about 60.7%. Additional numbers show that over 59.7% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
