Fresh off capturing the Class D title last week, the Cincinnatus varsity girls soccer team is set to open play in the New York State Tournament this weekend.

The Lions will begin with the Class D regional round, where they will take on Section IV’s Schenevus at 4 p.m. Saturday at Norwich High School in Chenango County.

The winner of this game moves on to the state semifinal round at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Homer High School, where they will face either Section V’s Keshequa or Section VI’s Ellicottville.

Last Friday, Cincinnatus topped Poland, 3-2, to be crowned Section III Class D champions.
