Northwest winds will remain in place today but will gradually diminish.

Wind speeds through the morning will be around 10 mph. During the afternoon, the wind will drop and should become nearly calm tonight.

The northwest winds will bring in some lake effect clouds, and this morning, perhaps a few lake effect snow showers. Some of the hilly terrain in the northern part of the county could see a coating to an inch of snow.

Most of the day should be precipitation free, however. The clouds will break up some this morning, and some breaks of sun are likely through the afternoon.

Mixed skies will persist tonight, with some periods of clouds and some without.

Temperatures will be cool today with highs mostly in the upper 30s. Higher elevations will stick closer to 35 degrees. Evening temperatures will fall into the 20s with overnight lows in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Wednesday: Precipitation likely, possibly starting as accumulating snow in the predawn and early morning hours before turning to rain. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Thursday: Scattered snow and rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Friday: Partly cloudy. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
