The Arts at Grace invites you to the first concert of its 20th season!

“Music for Cello and Piano” will be held on Sunday, November 20, at 3 pm, at Grace and Holy Spirit Church, 13 Court Street. Admission is free.

This concert brings together two of Central New York’s finest instrumentalists, cellist Zachary Sweet and pianist Kerry Mizrahi, who will perform music of Perkinson, Coleridge-Taylor, Shaw, and Bridge. Come enjoy these two extraordinary musicians in the beautiful acoustics of Grace and Holy Spirit Church.

Zachary Sweet is a registered Teacher Trainer with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. He is currently instructor of cello at Nazareth College, Binghamton University, and on the faculties of Ithaca Talent Education and Music Together of Ithaca. Nationally, he is in demand as a clinician, having led workshops, masterclasses, and institutes across the United States and Canada. Zachary performs extensively throughout the Tri-State area as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, and plays regularly with Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, the Society for New Music, and the Nazareth Piano Trio. Highlights this year include a performance at the Society of Composers International Region II Conference and a solo appearance with Nazareth College Symphony Orchestra.

Kerry Mizrahi has been a pianist in the Ithaca area for the last four decades. She has worked with many talented area musicians and students from Ithaca College, Cornell University, Ithaca Talent Education, and district schools. After a couple of missed years during the pandemic, when musicians were only able to connect through Zoom, she is grateful to be playing for a live audience again.

The Arts at Grace is supported by CNY Arts, the Wilkins Foundation, the McDonald Foundation, the Cortland Community Foundation, the Dan and Rose McNeil Foundation, and individual contributors from the greater Cortland community. It is an outreach effort of Grace and Holy Spirit Church.
