December will start off where November left off: with gusty winds.

West-northwest winds will pick up after sunrise this morning and will be strong one again through the early afternoon. Wind speeds will approach 20 mph with gusts over 40 mph likely.

During the mid and late afternoon, the wind speeds will drop. By sunset, gusts will be under 30 mph.

The wind will keep temperatures cool today with highs in the mid 30s. Some of the hilly terrain may not escape the low 30s.

However, no precipitation is expected, and skies will be a pleasant mix of sun and clouds.

Skies will remain partly cloudy or, at times, mostly clear tonight. Evening temperatures will quickly drop into the mid 20s.

Nighttime winds will shift to the southwest and then south. While they will remain light, they should be enough to keep temperatures from dropping more than a couple more degrees for an overnight low in the low 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Sun and clouds. Not as windy, but becoming a bit gusty late in the day. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Scattered rain showers. Winds picking up again with south gusts over 40 mph. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 50.

Sunday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
