A disorganized but persistent weather system will build in today.

Clouds will be thick throughout the day today, accompanied by on and off light rain showers. Even when it is not actively raining, it may still be a bit on the drizzly side.

The sun is not expected to make even a brief appearance with thick overcast throughout the day.

Shower activity should increase during the dusk and evening hours, but even then, the rain will be on and off. As such, rainfall amounts today should be low, around a quarter-inch or so.

Southeast winds will be steady but not strong today. Wind speeds will be 5-10 mph with gusts near or under 20 mph. A few morning gusts over the hilltops in the northern part of the county could approach 25 mph.

Temperatures will creep upward, reaching a high in the low 40 and mid 40s this afternoon. The temperature should remain mostly steady into the evening hours before dipping to near or just above 40 degrees overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with some rain showers. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
