Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from the past week. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported recently the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county is low. For the week of Dec. 5-12, there were over 30 positive cases and a handful of hospital admissions (six currently hospitalized), but no new deaths.
As of Dec. 11, there have been 12,932 total positive cases, 834 hospitalizations and 131 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 3.8% and 11.4, respectively.
The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is 61%, and 60.4% of residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
