Milestone nights from seniors Andrew Partigianoni and Hunter Everle anchored the undefeated Cortland/Homer boys hockey team to a 7-2 victory over Clinton on Tuesday.

Partigianoni netted his 50th-career goal to start off scoring for the Eagles in the first period.

“It’s a good benchmark,” Partigianoni said, noting he didn’t realize it was his 50th goal when he scored.

Partigianoni thanked his coaches and teammates for his accomplishment.

“They all had a big part in this (achievement),” he added.

Everle notched his second-career hat trick for Cortland/Homer. He scored two goals in the second period and one in the third.

“It felt great,” Everle said, noting his first-career hat trick was in his sophomore season. “It’s great to get on the board.”

Mitchell Riter, Christopher Yang and Finn Thomas each tallied a goal for the Eagles. Riter also had three assists, while Everle and Tucker Gabriel each had two assists. Lucas Farris, Brady Coffin, Partigianoni and Gabby Cranfield contributed an assist apiece.

“The kids are working really hard. I’m loving what I’ve been seeing from this group. It’s awesome,” First-year head coach Paul Quinlan said.

Cortland/Homer eighth-grade goalie Cole Mead notched 27 saves.

“(Mead has) really stepped up these past few games,” Partigianoni said.

The Eagles take on Whitesboro at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
