Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Friday’s events:
Varsity Girls Basketball: Cortland vs. Auburn

The Cortland Lady Tigers lost a tough game against Auburn on the road with a score of 51-70 on Friday.
Cortland was led by Claire Turner (15 points), Valerosa Gambitta (12 points), and Mallory Turner (11 points).
Auburn was led by Leah Middleton (21 points), Peyton Maneri (16 points), and Kylie Guarino (11 points).
With this loss, Cortland has fallen to an overall record of 6-2.
Cortland’s next scheduled game will take place at Cortland High School on Tuesday (January 3rd) against Jamesville-Dewitt at 6:45pm.
Varsity Boys Basketball: McGraw vs. Williamson (Cato-Meridian Holiday Booster Club Tournament)

The McGraw Eagles defeated Williamson 73-54 in the consolation game of the “Cato-Meridian Holiday Booster Club Tournament” on Friday.
With this win, McGraw improved their overall record to 6-1.
