Varsity Girls Basketball: Marathon vs. Groton

The Marathon Lady Olympians lost a tough game on the road against Groton with a score of 18-41.
Marathon was led by Abby Ensign (9 points), Audrey Ensign (6 points), and Addison Oram (3 points).
Groton was led by Mattison Lucey (13 points) and Ellie Dykeman (8 points).
“Not our best performance,” said Marathon Head Coach Elizabeth Duncan. “We did not start being aggressive on offense until late. We looked very flat from the start. We will look to get back on track Friday at Newfield.”
With this loss, Marathon now holds a 5-5 record.

“Tonight was a tough one for our group,” said Cortland-Homer Head Coach Paul Quinlan. “We didn’t have our best and it finally caught up with us. Full credit to CBA. They are a very good team, and they were well prepared for us tonight. We have a senior heavy group, and we will respond I am sure, but we need to be better. There are no easy nights in this league.”
