Liverpool was led by James Welch (28 saves) and Trevor Smith (27 saves).
“Tonight had all the makings of a trap game,” said Cortland-Homer Head Coach Paul Quinlan. “It was the second night of a back to back, and after a big league game last night and another big league game against Skaneateles on Tuesday; I was happy with how committed the team was to not looking past Liverpool. We preach one game at a time, and tonight we looked ready for the challenge. We were able to implement some things tonight that we have been working on in practice, and I was happy to see the results. Garret got another shut out, and we had a lot of guys on the scoresheet. Secondary scoring is an important metric for us, so that is a good sign.”
Up next, Cortland-Homer will take on Skaneateles at the JM McDonald Sports Complex this upcoming Tuesday (January 10th) at 7pm.
