The Cortland varsity baseball team was recently honored with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) team academic excellence award for the 2021-22 school year.
ABCA honors teams at the high school and college levels. Teams receive the award if they post a cumulative grade-point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
The Purple Tigers have received the award every year since the 2015-16 school year.
Cortland is coming off a 2022 campaign in which they compiled a 20-3 record and captured the Section III Class A title. The 2023 is slated to get underway in April.
