Man arrested for DWI after discovered in parked running vehicle

A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) early Sunday morning after he was found “unconscious” in a running vehicle while parked in traffic, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report noted that county sheriff’s officers responded to the area of Fisher Avenue and Route 281 in the town of Cortlandville. 

Officers found Sengal K. Alazar, 33 of Ithaca, unconscious and intoxicated while in a “running vehicle” parked in traffic.

Along with his DWI charge, Alazar was also charged with stopping/parking on a highway. He was processed, arraigned, released and is now set to appear in Cortlandville town court on Jan. 30.
