Varsity Wrestling: Homer vs. Cortland

The Homer Trojans defeated the Cortland Tigers in a dual meet Tuesday night with an overall team score of 54-15.

The Marathon Olympians defeated Bainbridge-Guilford in a dual meet Tuesday night with an overall team score of 43-27.

The Cincinnatus Lady Lions lost a tough match against Sandy Creek on senior night after four sets. 

However, during the match, Cincinnatus senior Caitlyn St. Germain reached 1,000 career assists.

Varsity Ice Hockey: Cortland-Homer vs. Skaneateles

The Cortland-Homer Golden Eagles lost 1-4 against Skaneateles Tuesday night. 

With this loss, Cortland-Homer has fallen to an 8-2 overall record. 

Cortland-Homer was led by Chris Yang (1 goal), Andrew Partigianoni (1 assist), and Garret Clark (21 saves).

Skaneateles was led by Andrew Gaglione (2 goals & 2 assists), Kaden Rutledge (2 assists), Jack Torrey (1 goal), Henry Major (1 goal), and Chad Lowe (22 saves).

Cortland-Homer’s next game will be played against New Hartford on the road on Friday (January 13th) at 7pm.

Varsity Boys Basketball: Cortland vs. Central Square

The Cortland Purple Tigers lost 45-66 against Central Square Tuesday night, bringing their overall record down to 3-5.

Cortland was led by Benjamin McGrath (22 points) and Jaxson Gambitta (7 points). 

Central Square was led by Aaron Bergquist (13 points), Trevor Boyce (13 points), and Shane Berquist (13 points).

Up next, Cortland will play at home against Fulton on Friday (January 13th) at 6:45pm.

The McGraw Eagles lost a tough game against Groton with a final score of 62-77. 

With this loss, McGraw has fallen to an overall record of 7-3. 

McGraw was led by Gaven Truman (17 points), Nick Sutton (12 points), and Caleb Epp (9 points). 

Groton was led by Mason Slade (19 points) and ​​Benjamin DeMatteo (14 points).

McGraw’s next game will be played at home against Otselic Valley on Friday (January 13th) at 7pm. 

Varsity Boys Basketball: Marathon vs. DeRuyter

The Marathon Olympians defeated DeRuyter 71-45 to improve to a 2-7 record. 

Marathon was led by Bryce Hartman (20 points), Conor Holland (17 points), Jacob Byron (16 points), and Zachary Birdsall (13 points). 

Dryden was led by Ryder Forrest (18 points) and Wesley Pforter (11 points).

Marathon is now scheduled to play Odessa Montour Central at home this Friday (January 13th) at 7:15pm. 

Varsity Girls Basketball: Cortland vs. Central Square

The Cortland Lady Tigers beat Central Square 59-46 Tuesday night. 

With this win, Cortland improved to an overall record of 8-3. 

Cortland was led by Mallory Turner (19 points), Claire Turner (14 points), and Valerosa Gambitta (12 points). 

Central Square was led by Natalie Bush (24 points) and Samantha Haley (14 points).

Up next, Cortland will Fulton on the road this Friday (January 13th) at 6:45pm.
