After some accumulating snow overnight, mostly just light snow showers will fall from time to time today.

The snow showers will be especially prevalent this morning as northwest winds behind the departing low pressure system bring in some lake effect off Lake Ontario.

And while the snow showers will diminish this afternoon, there will still be a chance for a few flurries here and there through the daytime and into the evening hours.

These snow showers should not amount to more than an additional coating of snow, not counting what fell overnight.

The northwest winds will be on the blustery side with speeds around or slightly above 10 mph. Top gusts will be just under 30 mph. Some localized blowing and drifting of the snow will be possible.

Temperatures will not rise much today, only adding a few degrees for a high around the freezing mark of 32 degrees. These temperatures should help road conditions improve early this morning, and will keep roads in good shape throughout the day.

Tonight will be a bit cooler, with evening temperatures dropping to the mid 20s. Winds will turn to the west, then southwest overnight, so temperatures should not drop much further overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Scattered snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.

Wednesday: A period of snow, possibly briefly heavy three or four inches falling, followed by mixed precipitation or rain during the evening. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon temperatures near 30, rising to the mid 30s after sunset.

Thursday: Scattered snow showers. Morning temperatures in the mid 30s, dropping to the upper 20s during the afternoon.

Friday: Clouds and some sun. Morning lows in the upper 10s. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.
