Cortland girls basketball continues to climb in state rankings

The Cortland varsity girls basketball team is continuing its climb in this week’s New York State Sportswriters Association’s state rankings.

The Lady Purple Tigers are 19th in this week’s Class B state rankings, moving up from No. 23 last week. It’s the fifth-straight week Cortland has appeared in the state rankings.

Cortland (12-3) is coming off back-to-back wins over Oswego this past weekend. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to host Chittenango today at 6:45 p.m.

Other Section III teams state-ranked in Class B are General Brown at No. 8 and Skaneateles at No. 25.
