Cortland County COVID-19 wrap-up for Wednesday, Jan. 25

Here is a breakdown of recent COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The county health department reported this past Friday that the level of COVID-19 transmission in the county has risen from low to medium. For the week of Jan. 16-22, there were about 40 positive cases and three hospital admissions (four currently hospitalized), but no new deaths.

As of Jan. 23, there have been 13,166 total positive cases, 869 hospitalizations and 134 deaths in the county. According to the state, the current daily average of positive tests among county residents is 5.8%. The weekly average of cases per 100K is 11.4.

The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated that are 5 years-or-older is 61.2%. Additional numbers show that 60.9% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
