Blustery west-northwest winds will blow today behind the low pressure system that brought the snow yesterday.

Winds will increase this morning to speeds around 15 mph. Gusts of 30-40 mph will be commonplace through the morning and first half of the afternoon.

Moisture behind the low will be enhanced by Lake Ontario, sending a spray of snow showers into the area for much of the day. The snow should not accumulate much, but a few places could see as much as two inches.

The winds and snows will taper off during the afternoon hours, though flurries will still be possible into the evening and overnight.

Cooler air will come in on these winds as well. Temperatures will slip from the 30s this morning into the 20s this afternoon.

The temperature will continue to fall this evening, with mid and low 20s shortly after sunset. A few places may fall into the upper 10s by Friday morning. The chances for snow will fade overnight and Friday morning should be dry.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Clouds and maybe a few breaks of sun. Morning around 20. Afternoon highs in the upper 20s.

Saturday: Cloudy with a few morning flurries. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Sunday: Cloudy with some rain and snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs near 40.

Monday: Cloudy with some rain and snow showers. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.
