Cortland County High School Sports Recaps (January 28th)

Here are some local high school varsity sports recaps from Saturday’s events:

Varsity Boys Basketball: Cortland vs. Watertown

The Cortland Tigers lost a tough game against Watertown with a score of 51-59 on Saturday. 

With this loss, Cortland now holds a 4-10 record. 

Cortland was led by Marvin Bell (15 points), Emerson Johnson (15 points), and Carter Baum (9 points).

Watertown was led by Jack Adams (16 points), Seth Charlton (14 points), and Parker Moffett (11 points). 

Up next, Cortland will play in Auburn this Tuesday (January 31st) at 6:45pm.

Varsity Girls Basketball: Homer vs. Oneonta

The Homer Lady Trojans fell to a 6-10 record after losing 55-67 against Oneonta on Saturday. 

Homer was led by Catherine Apker (25 points) and Anya Gofkowski (14 points).

Homer’s next game will be played at home against Chittenango on Friday (January 3rd) at 7pm. 

Varsity Boys Volleyball: Cincinnatus vs. Oneida

The Cincinnatus Lions fell to an 0-5 record after losing in three sets against Oneida. 

Cincinnatus was led by Colton Maroney (2 kills, 2 blocks & 3 digs) and Dom Landers (1 ace, 2 assists, 1 block & 8 digs).

Cincinnatus is now scheduled to play Chittenango on the road this Tuesday (January 31st) at 6pm.
