The Cortland-Homer ice hockey team moved up in the latest New York State Sportswriters Association’s rankings.

The Golden Eagles (15-2) are now ranked sixth in Division II. This comes after the squad was ranked seventh for three-straight weeks.

Cortland-Homer, currently on a 7-game win streak and winners of eight of its last nine, are coming off a 6-5 win over divisional rival CBA/J0D this past Thursday.

The Eagles will cap their regular season this week with a home game against New Hartford at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and a road contest versus Whitesboro at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Other Section III Division II teams ranked in the state are Skaneateles (No. 4) and CBA/J-D (tied for 20th). Division I teams state-ranked include Baldwinsville at No. 9 and West Genesee at No. 10.
